The Charleston International Airport (CHS) is located 12 miles from downtown, approximately 20 minutes travel time. Some hotels can arrange transportation in advance and billed to your account, or guests may secure their own taxi at an estimated rate of $30 one way. There is a downtown shuttle which runs approximately $18 per person, but makes multiple stops. You can also rent a car, but not recommended. The Peninsula, as downtown Charleston is known, is very walk friendly with plenty of restaurants, shopping, sights and festival venues all within an easy 5-10 minute walk.
